Lots have been going on.. I didn't make my trip out East, for those of you who know about it, due to a lack of job, money, and health. I am only now feeling pretty much recovered for a recent case of the flu... I was only bed-bound for 3 days, alas it was enough to set me back further in finding a new job.
I still have my old job.. so to speak.. I was not fired, I was not laid off, and I have yet to quit. Alas, they hired someone else on (somewhat illegally I may add, seeing as I have not giving them my two weeks, or asked for a leave of absence).. and, well... Lets say that as I have been the senior worker there, and bringing in the most money, I think my manager hates me strictly because of my age. I was the lowest paid person there, and, of course, was getting paid no extra for training new employees, who, little did I know, would be making my life a living hell before replacing me.. and, continuing in the illegality of the issue, they owe me $400+ in two paychecks they have not given me. One from 10 days ago, and another here in about 5 days... though if they HAVE indeed fired me, they are required to give me my paycheck ON THE DATE of the...err.. expulsion?
Age is a true issue of discrimination in our country, and I am an overly passive person. The result? Perfectly good people like me get run into the dirt a lot for no apparent reason.
My friend transferred stores recently, being promised a pay raise and a promotion.. He has had two pay raises "denied" and cannot have his promotion to shift lead (he was going to be a manager, but they said he did not meet the required age of 18, so they would promote him to "shift lead") until he is 18. Well, obvously when he was told that he would be made shift lead if he transsferred stores then that meant that there was no age requrement.... he was only just 17 when promised this promotion. Now he's stuck with a longer commute, and minimum wage. Another BEAUTIFUL case of some big company lying down unjustices for America's Youth. Is it just me, or is something wrong?
Well, I just registered to vote, so I can make changes now, right? Fat chance. I've seen direct influances of people discriminating agasint younger people. Hell it happens to me all the time. Unfortunatly, I never stand up to these things; Rather, I let them eat away inside of me. Well, it may sound like that's going a bit far, but I assure you it is not. It is a constant build-up that everyone has experienced, and few can truely control. Let me make my point. This world will not change until we are truly in control of the workforce, and I can only hope that at that time we can 'bite the bullet' and swallow our pride so that OUR America's Youth must not deal with these same defects.
Enough ranting, I'm only causing myself fouler mood, though I will say the World never ceases to worry me. Ahhh, well, it is beyond my control I will simply continue to distance myself from whatever negatives possilbe. I'm sure writing journals about it fails to help in anyway, and I promise I will stop ranting now!
I have no more to say at this time other than... errr.. happy 4th, as I missed it.. though if it was everywhere as it was here, maybe I should say happy 5th. Where else in the world will the 4th of July celebration be moved to the 5th due to a few hours of church in the morning? And speaking of 4th of july (5th of july) celebrations, I've about got a parade of cars on my street, rather amazing seeing as this whole area is a net-work of dead-ends and loops....
ENOUGH ALREADY! ........ I must be lonely. O.o
